About KCR Karting
KCR Karting is widely recognized as one of the crown jewels of Canadian karting. Located in Château-Richer, just 15 minutes east of downtown Quebec City, this venue features a massive 1.4 km outdoor circuit—one of the longest and most technical tracks in the province. KCR is unique because it is a true four-season facility; when the asphalt is covered in snow, the track transforms into a spectacular winter drifting circuit with studded-tire karts. Whether you are a tourist looking for a high-speed thrill, a corporate group, or a serious racer working with the on-site SAAS Karting performance team, KCR delivers a world-class motorsport experience with a stunning backdrop of the St. Lawrence River.

The Track Layout
The circuit at KCR is designed for pure speed and technical precision. At 1.4 kilometers in length and up to 10 meters wide, it meets international standards, allowing for thrilling wheel-to-wheel racing.
- Summer Configuration: Features a long straightaway where karts hit top speed, followed by a mix of fast sweeping curves and tight technical hairpins that test your braking ability.
- Winter Configuration: From December to March, the track becomes an icy playground. The layout is adjusted for drifting, and karts are equipped with specialized studded tires for grip on the snow.
The Karts
KCR offers a modern fleet of karts maintained to professional standards:
- Adult Rentals (9HP): High-performance Sodi karts capable of reaching 70-80 kph. These are robust, safe, and incredibly responsive.
- Junior Karts (6.5HP): Designed for drivers aged 7-13 (min height 54"). These karts offer a safe but exciting introduction to racing with speeds capped at around 45 kph.
- Competition Karts: Through the SAAS Karting pro shop on-site, owners can race 2-stroke Rotax and Briggs & Stratton karts that reach speeds exceeding 120 kph.
SAAS Karting & Pro Shop
A major highlight of this venue is the presence of SAAS Karting, a premier race team and boutique located right at the track. Run by the Lacharité family, SAAS offers:
- Pro Shop: Sales of helmets, suits, gloves, and kart parts (Sodi, BirelART, etc.).
- Academy: Professional coaching and racing schools for those wanting to move from rental karts to competitive league racing.
- Team Support: Mechanical support and tent space for club racers.
Facilities & Events
The venue is equipped to host large-scale events.
- Clubhouse: A large reception hall with a bar and terrace overlooking the track, perfect for post-race celebrations.
- Leagues: KCR hosts the popular "SWS" (Sodi World Series) rental leagues as well as the "Coupe de Montréal" club races.
