About The Boardwalk

The Boardwalk at Magnetic Hill is one of Moncton's most beloved summer destinations. Located at 2800 Mountain Road, directly across from the famous Magnetic Hill Zoo and Magic Mountain, this multi-attraction venue is the perfect pit stop for families. While the site is famous for Butterfly World, the go-kart track is a major draw for those seeking a bit of throttle therapy. Unlike the high-speed racing leagues found elsewhere, The Boardwalk offers a relaxed, classic amusement park racing experience. It is designed purely for smiles, making it the ideal spot for parents to race their kids or for friends to enjoy a few friendly laps after a round of mini-golf.

Detailed guide

The Track Layout

The circuit is a traditional figure-8 style leisure track featuring a bridge and underpass, which adds a fun "tunnel" element to the race.

  • Surface: The track is smooth and wide, designed to accommodate multiple karts safely side-by-side.
  • Difficulty: It is beginner-friendly with banked curves that help keep the karts glued to the track, ensuring even novice drivers feel like pros.

The Karts & Token System

The Boardwalk operates on a Token System rather than timed sessions. You purchase tokens at the kiosk and use them for rides.

  • Single Karts (6 Tokens): For independent drivers. You must be at least 10 years old AND 54 inches (137cm) tall to drive these alone.
  • Double Karts (8 Tokens): Perfect for families. The driver must have a valid driver's licence (or be 16+ depending on current rules), while the passenger must be at least 36 inches tall and under 10 years old. This is a great way to let toddlers experience the fun.

Facilities & Attractions

The go-karts are just one part of a larger entertainment complex. You can easily spend an entire afternoon here:

  • Butterfly World: A beautiful indoor garden filled with hundreds of live butterflies.
  • Batting Cages: Test your swing with various speeds for baseball and softball.
  • Mini-Golf: A scenic 18-hole course that winds through the park.
  • Driving Range: For the serious golfers looking to hit a bucket of balls.
  • Canteen: On-site ice cream and snack bar to cool down after your activities.

Events

The venue is a hotspot for Birthday Parties and summer group outings. Because of the variety of activities (some kids can golf while others race), it is an excellent choice for groups with mixed interests.
