Discover family-friendly and pro karting across West Coast.

On the wild West Coast, slick tires and asphalt tracks are replaced by roll cages and mud. There are no traditional commercial go-kart tracks (indoor or paved) in Greymouth, Westport, or Hokitika. Instead, the region offers a unique "Mud Kart" experience that takes advantage of the native rainforest and famously wet climate.

The headline attraction for the region is On Yer Bike in Greymouth (Coal Creek). While not a standard go-kart track, they operate a fleet of Off-Road Buggies (often called "Mud Karts"). These are single, double, or four-seater vehicles equipped with suspension and roll bars, designed to tackle muddy forest trails rather than hunt for lap times. It is a "get dirty" experience where the weather is part of the challenge—their motto is "The Wetter the Better". Club Racing: For traditional tarmac racing, the Westland Kart Club operates a track in Cobden (Greymouth). However, this is a private competition club for owner-drivers. They do not offer daily "Arrive & Drive" rentals for the general public, focusing instead on club championships and competitive events.
