Detailed guide

A 1,100-metre North Wales circuit

GYG Karting runs a 1,100-metre outdoor circuit at Glan y Gors Park near Cerrigydrudion and Corwen. It combines public hire-kart sessions with owner-driver testing, its own hire-kart championship and visiting competition.

This mix makes the venue suitable for a casual first visit, an organised group race or a more serious owner-driver day, but each type of activity has its own calendar and entry process.

Public hire-kart options

  • Arrive and drive: public sessions provide timed track driving without requiring a full private event.
  • Group racing: Grand Prix and endurance-style products give organised groups a race format rather than separate practice sessions.
  • Driver rules: the current homepage separates junior products for ages 10 to 13 from adult products for ages 14 and over. Other booking pages publish product-specific limits, so the selected product is the final check.

Owner-drivers and facilities

Owner-driver test dates, race meetings and kart-storage services are handled separately from public hire karting. Published venue facilities include a cafe, briefing room, paddock areas, showers, spectator space and overnight facilities; check the event information for availability and access.

Before you visit

  • Pre-book: use the live calendar for the correct hire-kart, group or owner-driver product.
  • Check every driver: age and height conditions can differ between booking pages and event formats.
  • Plan for an outdoor venue: follow the operator's weather, clothing and arrival guidance for your date.
