Nottingham Raceway Karting
About Nottingham Raceway Karting
Nottingham Raceway (often called "Old Dalby" by locals) is a survivor. Operating on this site since the 1970s, it offers a pure, unpretentious karting experience. While the big corporate tracks chase the "entertainment" market with laser tag and pizza bars, Nottingham Raceway focuses on putting you in a fast kart on a grippy track. The 550m circuit is famous for being technically demanding rather than just flat-out fast, rewarding drivers who can carry momentum through the corners. It is a favorite for parents teaching their kids the basics of racing lines without the pressure of a massive crowd.

The Racing Experience
- The Track: The 550m circuit is compact but flows well. The lap record is around 30 seconds. It features a mix of tight hairpins and medium-speed corners that test your braking capability. Because it is outdoor tarmac, the grip is excellent in the dry but becomes a challenging drift course in the wet.
- The Karts:
- Adults (14+): Biz Le Mans (270cc). These are the industry standard for outdoor rentals. They are robust, reliable, and capable of approx 50mph. They aren't the newest fleet in the country, but they are well-maintained by the on-site mechanics.
- Juniors (8-13): Biz Evo Cadet (160cc). Safe, restricted karts for younger drivers.
- Height Check: Juniors must be at least 140cm (4ft 7in) to reach the pedals safely.
Other Activities
- Archery: If you need a break from the noise, the venue also offers archery sessions, making it a decent spot for a multi-activity stag do on a budget.
