Manchester is the undisputed capital of indoor karting in the North. The city offers a stark choice for drivers: head to the city centre for high-tech electric racing and augmented reality gaming, or travel to the industrial outskirts for the raw noise and speed of traditional petrol engines.
The biggest name in the region is TeamSport Manchester Trafford Park. For decades, this track was known as Daytona Manchester and was widely considered the best indoor circuit in the UK. It has recently been acquired by TeamSport but currently retains its legendary status (and its petrol karts for now). The 450m layout is fast, flowing, and physically demanding, making it the primary destination for serious racers visiting the city.
For those who refuse to drive electric, TeamKarting Rochdale is the "Petrol Stronghold." While other tracks switch to battery power, this venue prides itself on running 100% tarmac (no slippery concrete) and a fleet of 200cc petrol karts. It markets itself as the "longest all-tarmac indoor track in the North West" and is the go-to choice for purists who want to feel the vibration of the engine and smell the fuel.
If you want to race outdoors, Three Sisters Circuit in Wigan is a world-class venue. This is a professional motorsport circuit that hosts national championships. Unlike many pro tracks, it offers "Arrive & Drive" sessions for the public using twin-engine Honda petrol karts. It is widely regarding as one of the fastest and most technical rental experiences in the country.
In the City Centre (near Victoria Station), TeamSport Manchester Victoria offers a completely different vibe. It runs a fleet of electric karts on a multi-level track under the Manchester Arena car park. Just down the road, Chaos Karts provides a unique "Augmented Reality" experience where you race on a projected track with virtual power-ups, bridging the gap between karting and video games.
