High-speed action awaits in South East Wales.

South East Wales is arguably the best region in the UK for indoor petrol karting. While many cities have switched to electric, the major tracks in Cardiff and Newport have stuck with traditional combustion engines, offering a raw and noisy racing experience. Combine this with one of the country's most famous outdoor circuits in Llandow, and you have a "Golden Triangle" of motorsport just off the M4.

In the capital, TeamSport Cardiff (off Newport Road) is the primary destination. It features a technical 500m multi-level track with a flyover and runs a fleet of 200cc Petrol Karts. It is known for its intense hairpins and is a favorite for stag dos and competitive groups who want a "proper" race without the elements. Just 15 minutes east in Newport, Supakart offers something unique. It claims to be the "largest and fastest" track in Wales and features a hybrid layout: a massive indoor section with a bridge and tunnel, plus an outdoor extension that opens in good weather. Like Cardiff, it runs 200cc Petrol Karts, ensuring high speeds and plenty of adrenaline. In the Vale of Glamorgan (approx. 25 mins west of Cardiff), the village of Llandow is the outdoor hub. It is home to two distinct venues:
  • South Wales Karting Centre: A dedicated outdoor championship circuit (approx 850m-1050m). It is fast, wide, and floodlit, offering the closest thing to professional racing for the public.
  • Kart Kingdom: A newer indoor venue built inside a historic WWII Spitfire hangar. It combines petrol karts with high-tech "F1 style" steering wheels that display your live lap times.
A Note for Caerphilly & The Valleys: Residents in Caerphilly, Pontypridd, and Merthyr Tydfil are best served by heading south to TeamSport Cardiff or Supakart Newport, both of which are easily accessible via the A470 and M4.
