High-octane action across premier midlands circuits.

Staffordshire offers a distinct north-south divide. In the north (Stoke-on-Trent), you have a direct choice between high-tech electric racing and traditional indoor petrol thrills. In the south (Tamworth and Lichfield), the focus shifts to the great outdoors, with two massive tarmac circuits that attract drivers from across the Midlands.

In Stoke-on-Trent, the rivalry is between two very different venues. TeamSport Stoke (Burslem) is the modern choice. Located in a former industrial warehouse, it features a 500m multi-level track and runs a fleet of electric karts. It is clean, fume-free, and offers instant torque, making it popular for families and corporate events. Just a few miles away in Fenton is Fast Lane Karting. This is the "old school" alternative, running 200cc petrol karts on a technical indoor circuit. If you want the smell of petrol and a more raw mechanical experience, this is the track for you. Moving south to Tamworth, you will find Daytona Tamworth, widely considered one of the best outdoor tracks in the UK. This is a serious motorsport venue featuring a 1,000m circuit set in the rolling hills. It is famous for being one of the only rental tracks to offer high-performance 2-stroke DMAX karts (for experienced drivers), which are capable of speeds far exceeding standard rentals. Nearby in Lichfield (Fradley Park), Midland Karting offers another superb outdoor experience. It features a fast, floodlit tarmac track on a former airfield. It runs Sodi petrol karts and is known for its wide run-off areas and grippy surface, making it a favorite for stag dos and large group races.

Go karting in Staffordshire - FAQs

Common questions about choosing the right track in Staffordshire.

It depends entirely on your preference. If you want a modern, fume-free environment with instant acceleration, choose TeamSport Stoke (Electric). If you want the traditional rumble, smell, and mechanical feedback of a combustion engine, choose Fast Lane Karting (Petrol).

Although it often appears in "Birmingham" searches due to proximity, Daytona Tamworth is geographically in Staffordshire. It is the premier outdoor track for the entire West Midlands region.

Daytona operates a two-tier fleet. Anyone can drive the standard 4-stroke karts. However, to drive the high-performance DMAX (2-stroke) karts, you usually need to demonstrate previous experience or set a qualifying lap time on the standard karts first.

There are no dedicated commercial tracks in the town centres of Stafford or Burton. Residents of Stafford usually head north to Stoke (20 mins) or south to Lichfield (25 mins). Residents of Burton are very close to Midland Karting (Lichfield) and Daytona Tamworth.

Both Daytona Tamworth and Midland Karting are all-weather circuits. They continue to race in the rain (which is often more fun!), and they provide waterproof suits to keep you dry. Racing is only suspended in extreme conditions like lightning or heavy standing water.
