Experience full-throttle fun in East Riding of Yorkshire.

In East Yorkshire, all roads lead to Hull. While the county covers a vast area of coast and wolds, the motorsport action is almost entirely concentrated within the city boundaries. This creates a fantastic "Petrol vs Electric" rivalry just minutes apart, meaning drivers from Beverley, Driffield, and Bridlington have two world-class options on their doorstep without leaving the county.

The jewel in the crown for the entire region is Hull Karting (often known locally as "The Project" or Hull Adventure). Located on Poorhouse Lane—right next to the Hull KR stadium—this is one of the UK's only council-run tracks, but don't let that fool you. It is a serious motorsport facility featuring a 650m outdoor tarmac circuit. It runs a fleet of Biz petrol karts and is famous for its wide, flowing corners and professional organization. It is the "driver's choice" for anyone in East Yorkshire who wants speed, space, and the smell of petrol. For a modern, weather-proof alternative, TeamSport Hull (Freightliner Road) offers a completely different vibe. Opened in late 2019, this venue features a 400m multi-level track and runs an all-electric fleet of karts. The electric motors provide instant torque, making acceleration out of the corners incredibly rapid. It is clean, neon-lit, and features a bar and food area, making it the top pick for families and casual groups.
  • For The Coast & Wolds (Bridlington/Beverley): Residents in the wider county generally travel into Hull for "proper" racing, as coastal options are limited to seasonal amusement tracks.
  • From Bridlington: The drive to Hull Karting takes about 40-45 minutes. There are no championship-level commercial tracks on the coast itself.
  • From Pocklington/Market Weighton: Residents in the far west of the county often have a split choice: drive east to Hull (approx. 30 mins) or west to Teamworks York (approx. 25 mins) in North Yorkshire.

Go karting in East Riding of Yorkshire - FAQs

Common questions about finding a race in East Yorkshire.

It depends on which venue you visit. Hull Karting (Poorhouse Lane) is Petrol and Outdoor. TeamSport Hull (Freightliner Road) is Electric and Indoor.

No. While there may be small amusement tracks (like pedal karts at Park Rose Village) suitable for toddlers, there is no commercial engine-powered race circuit in Bridlington. The nearest track is Hull Karting (approx. 25 miles away).

"The Project" is the local name for Hull Karting, located on Poorhouse Lane near the Hull KR stadium (Craven Park). It is run by Hull City Council as part of the Hull Adventure group.

Yes. Because Hull Karting is an outdoor tarmac circuit, racing continues in wet weather (unless severe). They provide wet suits, and the lack of grip makes for a fun, sliding challenge. TeamSport Hull is indoors, so it is weather-proof.

There is no track in Beverley itself. Most residents drive ~15 minutes south to TeamSport Hull or Hull Karting, which are very accessible via the A1079.
