Discover premier karting circuits around West Yorkshire.
West Yorkshire is the urban heart of the county, and its karting scene reflects that. You won't find massive outdoor circuits here; instead, the region specializes in intense, technical indoor tracks. Unusually for 2024, the major venues in Leeds and Bradford are predominantly running petrol karts, making this a haven for drivers who prefer combustion engines over electric power.
In Leeds, drivers are spoilt for choice with two major petrol contenders. The flagship name is TeamSport Leeds (South Accommodation Road). This is one of the longest indoor tracks in the region (580m) and features a high-speed flyover and tunnel. Crucially, it currently runs a fleet of 200cc Petrol Karts, offering a raw, noisy racing experience. Just a few miles away, GT Karting (Hudson Road) offers a strong independent alternative. It features a 420m dual-level track with a massive 100m flyover and also runs 200cc Honda petrol karts, marketing itself as a high-value option for purists.
In Bradford, TeamSport Bradford (Beckside Road) offers a unique layout. Built inside a former textile mill, it features a "bullring" style track that is tight, technical, and atmospheric. Like its Leeds sister, it currently operates petrol karts.
For Wakefield, the go-to independent option is Wakefield Indoor Karting (Horbury Bridge). This venue runs 200cc JB Petrol Karts on a challenging tarmac surface. It is popular for its "no-nonsense" approach to racing and is often cheaper than the national chains.
For Huddersfield & Halifax:
- From Huddersfield: Residents typically travel 20-30 minutes to TeamSport Bradford or Wakefield Indoor Karting.
- From Halifax: The Go Kart Station (Queensbury) is a smaller, family-run venue located between Halifax and Bradford. It is less intense than the pro tracks and ideal for children's parties and beginners.
