Join Racing Dean for a detailed Clay Pigeon Track Guide, captured during a wet Club100 test session at Dorset’s renowned Clay Pigeon Raceway. Despite the rain, Club100 races on slick tyres come rain or shine, and this video showcases essential techniques for navigating the track in challenging conditions. Whether you're preparing for your first Club100 event or refining your wet-weather skills, this Clay Pigeon Track Guide offers key insights into one of the UK’s most historic karting circuits.
Driver notes
Preferred overtaking spots:
- End of the main straight.
- End of the back straight.
Kart review:
Technically, Club100 karts are rental karts, but these machines use a water cooled 125cc engine made by Rotax. They are the fastest arrive and drive karts in the UK. They’re great—far faster than a twin engine pro kart and about 80% as fast as an Owner Driver Rotax.
Value for money:
60 mins testing costs £210 inc. VAT, which isn’t all that cheap, but essential if you have never driven the circuit before. Club100 also offer 30min testing for drivers on race days too.
Inside Track
Clay Pigeon features a rather large club house with an awesome viewing gallery. If it’s wet, like it was today, the entire audience can seek shelter.
Review
The Clay Pigeon Track Guide highlights prime overtaking opportunities at the end of both the main and back straights—critical spots where confident braking and positioning can make all the difference. Racing Dean demonstrates how to manage the tricky wet conditions while maximising the performance of Club100’s water-cooled 125cc Rotax-powered karts.
Throughout the Clay Pigeon Track Guide, viewers gain a clear understanding of the circuit’s value as a testing venue, with sessions priced at £210 for 60 minutes—a worthwhile investment, especially for those new to the track. Clay Pigeon also offers 30-minute practice sessions on race days. The venue features a large clubhouse with an excellent viewing gallery, providing shelter for spectators during wet conditions, making it a favourite for racers and fans alike.
