Track guide
Join Racing Dean for this Ellough Park Track Guide, featuring on-board footage from the C Final at one of the UK’s most technical kart circuits. After a tough set of heats, Racing Dean started near the back but drove cautiously to secure a 51.39-second lap, climbing from 11th to 7th place. This Ellough Park Track Guide offers practical tips for overtaking, racecraft, and managing performance in Club100 machinery, making it essential for any driver preparing to tackle this Suffolk circuit.
Driver notes
Preferred overtaking spots:
Ellough Park kart circuit presents lots of opportunities for overtaking - especially for the brave. I never managed to pull off a good move at the end of the main straight over the start-finish line, but it can be done. Instead, these are my favourite spots:
- End of the back straight, near the pits.
- Infield chicane, before the high speed complex.
Kart review:
Club100 karts are pretty much the fastest thing you can drive without owning a kart. My kart in the final was especially fast, while my karts in Heats 2 and 3 had some top end and braking issues respectively.
Value for money:
This footage was taken from the C Final of a sprint weekend with Club100 costs £219.00 per round inc. + £50.00 one-off registration fee. I paid an additional £105 (inc. VAT) for a 30 min test before the race.
Inside track
The vibe at Ellough Raceway is good, with frequent skydiving interjections from Ellough airfield, over the road. The track itself is very high quality - flat with nice curbs. The facilities are a bit meek, with poor toilets and limited food options. Bring your own lunch!
Review
The Ellough Park Track Guide showcases several excellent overtaking opportunities, particularly at the end of the back straight near the pits and through the infield chicane before the high-speed complex. While Racing Dean never managed a successful move at the end of the main straight, he identifies it as a potential spot for the brave and well-prepared.
Throughout the Ellough Park Track Guide, Racing Dean navigates the track in Club100’s high-performance karts, widely regarded as the fastest rental machines available. Although he experienced some kart issues in Heats 2 and 3, the final’s kart performed exceptionally well. This guide offers valuable insights into making the most of your kart and capitalising on Ellough Park’s numerous overtaking opportunities.
