About Wunderland Salem
Electric Castle's Wunderland in Salem is not your childhood arcade. Located in a massive 29,000-square-foot facility on Hawthorne Ave, this location features a state-of-the-art multi-level electric go-kart track built by 360 Karting (the same company behind Andretti Indoor Karting tracks). While it retains the brand's famous "nickel games" arcade model, the draw here is the high-tech racing and the two-story laser tag arena. It’s an affordable hybrid between a classic arcade and a modern FEC (Family Entertainment Center).

Detailed guide
The Karting Experience
- The Track: A tight, technical multi-level track featuring elevation changes. Because it is electric, there are no fumes, but the track width is narrower than some dedicated racing facilities, rewarding precision over speed.
- Game of Karts: This location features "interactive" racing. You can play a mode where you drive over projected power-ups on the track (Mario Kart style) to boost your speed or slow down opponents.
- Requirements:
- Single Driver: Must be 11 years old AND 55 inches tall.
- Double Seater: Driver must be 15+ years old (60" tall). Passenger must be 51 inches tall. Note: The passenger height requirement is higher than most tracks (usually 40-48"), so measure your kids before promising them a ride.
The Arcade & Games
- Nickel Pricing: Games run on a card system, but the price per game is incredibly low (often nickels or dimes), allowing your money to last much longer than at Dave & Buster's.
- Pixel Games: A "floor is lava" style active gaming room where you jump on lit tiles to score points. It costs approx. $1.50 per game and is a massive hit with groups.
- Laser Tag: A two-story arena that accommodates large groups.
