Indoor and outdoor karting excitement in Tennessee.

Tennessee’s karting landscape is a tale of two worlds. In the urban centers, you will find high-tech indoor facilities that offer consistent, climate-controlled racing year-round. But head east to the Smoky Mountains, and the scene transforms into a massive vacation hub where multi-level wooden tracks and gas engines rule the Parkway.

For the Nashville area, Music City Indoor Karting is the local heavyweight. Located just outside downtown, it features a technical indoor track and high-speed electric karts that are a hit with bachelor parties and locals alike. It competes directly with K1 Speed Nashville, which provides the brand's signature consistent experience on a grippy asphalt surface. In Pigeon Forge, the sheer volume of tracks can be overwhelming, but Xtreme Racing Center stands out as the serious driver's choice. While most neighbors offer amusement rides, Xtreme runs Sodi RT8 gas karts capable of 40 mph on a dedicated racing circuit. It is widely considered the fastest karting experience in the Smokies. Knoxville has recently leveled up with the opening of a massive K1 Speed in 2025 (formerly the site of a retail store, not to be confused with the old Veloce). This new facility features two separate tracks, making it one of the largest indoor karting venues in the region. Memphis is also now K1 territory. The former Autobahn Indoor Speedway has been fully converted into K1 Speed Memphis, bringing modern electric karts and a standardized league structure to the western part of the state. Family & Tourist Options:
  • The Track (Pigeon Forge): Famous for the "Wild Woody," a multi-level wooden track that spirals up three stories. It’s an iconic coaster-style kart experience, though the speeds are moderate.
  • NASCAR SpeedPark (Sevierville): A massive park with 8 different tracks, ranging from "Baby Bristol" for kids to the "Smoky Mountain Speedway" for families.
