Go Karting in Colorado
Feel the adrenaline rush at Colorado's top karting venues.
The Colorado karting landscape has changed dramatically in the last two years. With the permanent closures of the region's historic hubs (Podium in Denver and Action Karting in Morrison), the center of gravity for serious racing has shifted. To find high-speed gas karts near Denver, drivers now head north to the expansive outdoor tracks in Dacono. Meanwhile, Colorado Springs has emerged as the state's premier destination for indoor electric racing.
For the Denver Metro area, the new go-to for serious drivers is IMI Motorsports Complex in Dacono. Located about 30 minutes north of the city, this massive motorsport facility features a 1-mile asphalt track that runs high-speed gas rental karts. It is the fastest rental option remaining in the Front Range, offering a "real" racing experience on a track shared with supermotos and shifters.
In the city itself, K1 Speed (Littleton/Highlands Ranch) is the reliable choice for year-round racing. It offers a consistent, climate-controlled electric racing experience perfect for casual groups and corporate events. Note: A second K1 Speed location is currently under construction in Thornton, expected to open in 2026.
Heading south to Colorado Springs, Overdrive Raceway is a bucket-list venue. It is one of the only two-story indoor electric kart tracks in the country. It features two separate tracks: the technical "Pepsi Track" and the high-speed "Rockstar Energy Speed Track". They run modern OTL electric karts that are clean, quiet, and inclusive (with hand-control options available).
Western Slope Pro Track: For serious racers in Western Colorado, Grand Junction Motor Speedway is a world-class facility. It features a massive 0.9-mile outdoor track that hosts major national championships and offers rental karts capable of 60+ mph.
Important Closures:
- Action Karting (Morrison): Permanently closed following the shutdown of Bandimere Speedway.
- Podium Karting (Denver): Permanently closed (formerly Unser Karting).
