About KartSport Dunedin
KartSport Dunedin is an owner-driver kart club at 34 Milners Road in North Taieri rather than a conventional daily rental attraction. The present circuit opened in 1984, was extended in 2004 and supports scheduled club days, practice and KartSport New Zealand competition. An established North Taieri kart club
KartSport Dunedin developed its current Milners Road site from a former gravel pit and officially opened there in 1984. The club later extended the circuit in 2004 and resealed it in 2005.
This is a member and event-led motorsport venue, not a promise of unrestricted arrive-and-drive rental karting. Access follows the club calendar and KartSport New Zealand rules.
Club, practice and newcomer routes
- Club days: racing takes place on published meeting dates rather than as continuous public sessions.
- Owner-driver focus: ordinary participation requires the correct kart, class and technical compliance.
- Licence rules: testing, practice and racing operate under current KartSport New Zealand requirements.
- Have A Go: newcomers can ask the club about an arranged introductory session before buying equipment.
Classes and safety preparation
Age and equipment determine the correct kart class, while drivers need approved racewear and a kart that meets current technical rules. Families can also participate through mechanics, officials and other club roles if they are not yet ready to race.
