KartSport Hawke’s Bay is an owner-driver club at the 687-metre CCR Raceway in Fernhill, with licensed practice, monthly Club Days and KartSport New Zealand competition. Owner-driver karting at CCR Raceway
KartSport Hawke’s Bay is a KartSport New Zealand affiliated club rather than an everyday rental attraction. Its year-round programme focuses on member practice, Club Days, championships and structured introductions for people genuinely considering the sport.
Track and practice access
- Circuit: CCR Raceway is 687 metres long with eight corners and clockwise or anticlockwise operation.
- Capacity: the A-rated circuit publishes a maximum of 24 karts.
- Visitors: practice requires membership of an affiliated club, a current KartSport licence, an indemnity and advance permission.
- Practice: licensed sessions run 09:00-17:00 in ten-minute groups when no event is using the track.
Two introduction routes
- Have A Go: ages six to ten receive a kart, protective equipment, a mentor and three sets of ten laps.
- No casual hire: Have A Go is not available for birthdays or an ordinary leisure rental.
- Arrive and Drive: drivers aged ten and older can apply to use a supplied 9hp Briggs LO206 kart for a full Club Day.
- Assessment: the Arrive and Drive route includes fitting, track testing and a skill decision before joining club racing.
