Race head-to-head at Hampshire's leading kart tracks.
Hampshire is a major hub for motorsport, and its karting scene is dominated by one of the most famous names in British racing: Thruxton. While the county boasts a trio of modern indoor tracks serving its major cities, the outdoor circuit near Andover remains the undisputed heavyweight champion for speed and scale.
If you are looking for the ultimate outdoor experience, Thruxton Kart Centre is the place to be. Located adjacent to the UK's fastest race circuit, this venue reflects its big brother's reputation. It features a 1,100m "Full Circuit" that is fast, wide, and demanding. Unlike many leisure tracks, Thruxton runs a fleet of 13bhp "Thunderkarts" capable of 60mph, offering a visceral petrol-powered experience that is rare in the rental market.
For indoor racing, the county has seen a major shift towards technology. TeamSport operates three venues in Hampshire—Southampton (Eastleigh), Gosport (Portsmouth), and Farnborough—and all three have been upgraded to electric karts.
TeamSport Southampton (Eastleigh) and TeamSport Farnborough feature multi-level layouts that are perfect for the instant torque of the new "EcoVolt" electric fleets. Meanwhile, TeamSport Gosport serves the Portsmouth area with a 450m track known for its "Donington Bridge" flyover section. While traditionalists might miss the noise of petrol indoors, these electric tracks offer cleaner air and significantly faster acceleration off the line.
