About Davenport Kartway
Davenport Kartway was an eight-turn asphalt competition kart track in the east parking lot of the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. It ran weekly owner-driver racing from 2017 through 2020 before the fair board declined to renew its agreement.
Detailed guide
Davenport Kartway brought organized kart racing back to the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in August 2017. Promoter Kevin Williams built an eight-turn asphalt layout in the east parking lot, reviving a family connection to kart events formerly run at the fairgrounds by his father, Ken.
The compact course produced laps of roughly 30 seconds and operated under National Karting Alliance rules for owner-drivers. The kartway ceased operating after the 2020 season when the fair board did not renew its contract.
