Detailed guide
Speedeezz 2 Indoor Karting was the high-performance arm of the Speedeezz brand in Cedar Rapids. While the original "Speedeezz" focused on family racing, Speedeezz 2 (often located in the same expanded warehouse district) featured faster gas-powered karts capable of 50mph, catering to leagues and serious drivers. The facility was a local favorite for its "no-frills" racing approach before closing abruptly in the summer of 2023.
Status: Permanently Closed
- Closure: Both Speedeezz locations (the original family track and the Speedeezz 2 pro track) permanently ceased operations on July 23, 2023.
- The Reason: The closure was sudden. Ownership announced the shutdown on Facebook just 24 hours in advance, citing financial challenges. They explicitly stated that no refunds would be issued for gift cards or pre-booked heats, which caused significant local controversy.
- The Site Today: The facility at 1120 33rd Ave SW is currently closed/vacant.
