Race head-to-head at Kansas's leading kart tracks.

For years, Kansas karting was defined by small family fun centers and the now-closed Sadler's. That changed overnight with the opening of a flagship facility in Overland Park, giving the state a "pro-level" indoor track that rivals anything in the country. In Wichita, the scene remains split between climate-controlled electric racing and classic outdoor gas tracks, offering good variety for the state's largest city.

The headline attraction is Andretti Indoor Karting & Games in Overland Park. Part of the massive Aspiria development, this multi-level facility features high-speed Biz Kart electric superkarts on a technical track with elevation changes. It is the definitive choice for adults and serious enthusiasts in the KC metro area who want to race on the Kansas side of the state line. In Wichita, The Alley Indoor Entertainment is the top choice for year-round racing. Primarily known as a bowling center, it houses a legitimate indoor electric go-kart track that runs fast enough for adult leagues and corporate parties. For those who prefer gas engines and open air, All Star Sports (West Wichita) and All Star Adventures (East Wichita) offer the traditional outdoor experience with banked curves and classic combustion karts. In Shawnee, The Rush Funplex (formerly PowerPlay) keeps the action going with a large indoor park featuring go-karts, laser tag, and bowling, serving as a key entertainment hub for the northern Johnson County suburbs. Important Regional Notes:
  • Kansas City Metro Split: It is important to note that K1 Speed is located in Lee's Summit, Missouri. If you are strictly looking for karting on the Kansas side, Andretti (Overland Park) is your venue.
  • Heartland Motorsports Park (Topeka): The famous drag strip and road course in Topeka—which occasionally hosted karting events—has ceased operations due to legal and tax issues as of 2024/2025.

Go karting in Kansas - FAQs

Common questions about karting in Kansas.

No. The legendary Sadler's Indoor Racing in Olathe has been closed for several years. The building and business are no longer operating as a kart track.

K1 Speed is located in Lee's Summit, Missouri. However, it is only about 20-30 minutes from the state line, so it serves the Kansas City metro area alongside the Andretti location in Overland Park (which is in Kansas).

Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, which was a major venue for drag racing and road racing, closed its gates in 2024 following tax disputes. It is no longer an active venue for rental karting or racing events.
