About X Karts
X Karts is the high-octane heart of the X Events entertainment centre in Palmerston North. Located on Tremaine Avenue, this facility offers a rare combination: the comfort of an indoor venue with the visceral thrill of petrol engines. While many indoor tracks have switched to electric, X Karts sticks to the traditional 270cc Sodi engines, giving you the rumble, smell, and mechanical feedback of real racing. It is part of a massive "Adventure Hub" that also houses Escape Rooms, Axe Throwing, and a Smash Room, making it the perfect one-stop-shop for a rainy day in the Manawatu.

The Track Layout
- Indoor Petrol: This is the key selling point. You don't have to worry about the rain, but you still get the "real kart" experience.
- Length: The track is approximately 250 meters long. It is a tight, technical layout designed to test your cornering precision rather than top speed.
- Surface: Polished concrete. This creates a "drift-friendly" surface where throttle control is everything.
The Karts
- Adult Karts (Sodi SR4): Powered by 270cc Honda engines. These are the industry standard for outdoor rental karts, brought indoors. They are fast, heavy, and require physical effort to drive fast.
- Kids Karts (Sodi LR4): Smaller 160cc karts designed for safety. They feature adjustable seats, pedals, and steering wheels to ensure younger drivers fit perfectly.
Multi-Activity Complex
X Events is famous for its "Combo" potential. You can finish your race and immediately walk into:
- X-IT Escape Room: Solve puzzles to break out of a locked room.
- X Axe Throwing: Competitive axe throwing (think darts, but with timber and steel).
- X Smash Room: Put on safety gear and smash bottles/electronics with a baseball bat to release stress.
