Detailed guide

Gas-powered indoor karting in Wallingford

Go Time – On Track Karting operates a 1,300-foot indoor circuit with 15 turns and a published width of more than 18 feet. Unlike an electric centre, it runs three levels of petrol-powered karting with distinct fit, age and experience requirements.

Three kart levels

  • Junior: drivers must be at least 48 inches tall and fit the moulded seat; 225lb is published as a guideline rather than an automatic limit. Junior karts use 5.5hp engines and are governed to about 25mph.
  • Adult: drivers aged 16 or over need a minimum height of 60 inches and safe seat fit; the 300lb figure is also a guideline. Adult 6.5hp karts reach about 35mph.
  • Pro: the 9hp Sodi GT5 fleet reaches about 40mph and normally requires annual Pro Club membership for drivers aged 18 or over.
  • Upgrades: experienced younger drivers may qualify through an instructor evaluation, but upgrades are not automatic.

How public heats work

  • Best-lap format: ordinary heats rank drivers by their quickest lap rather than by finishing position.
  • Capacity: up to 12 drivers can share a heat, with junior and adult sessions generally alternating.
  • Time: the operator advertises more than seven minutes on track; the complete check-in-to-finish experience takes roughly 15-20 minutes.
  • Equipment: head sock, helmet and neck brace are supplied; drivers need secure closed-toe footwear.

Safety, coaching and facilities

  • Waivers: a parent or legal guardian must sign for every driver under 18.
  • Instruction: general and personalised coaching plus junior summer camps are offered.
  • Off track: the venue lists an arcade and Break Time food area.
  • No directory booking: Kart Directory provides no checkout and no external operator booking button for this venue.
