Two-level indoor karting in Byron Center
Grand Rapids Grand Prix operates at 8455 Byron Commerce Drive SW. Its climate-controlled, two-level circuit uses electric Sodi karts and rotates between Gen I, Gen II and Gen III configurations during different parts of the year.
Driver requirements
- Age: every racer must be at least 15 years old and show a licence, permit or other valid proof of age on a first visit.
- Height: the published minimum is 54 inches, with staff making the final safe-fit decision.
- Clothing: closed-toe shoes are required and comfortable trainer-style footwear is recommended.
- Waiver and supervision: every driver signs a waiver, and racers under 17 need a parent or guardian in the building.
Race format and access
- Timed races: the venue starts a race about every ten minutes and provides roughly six to six-and-a-half minutes on track.
- Walk-in racing: public racing is first come, first served and cannot be reserved as a standalone race product.
- Group events: reservations are for complete race, food and room packages from eight people and are arranged in advance.
- Track rotation: Gen II runs February-May, Gen I June-September and Gen III October-January.

- Check the event calendar: leagues and private bookings can close the circuit to walk-in racers.
- Current hours: Mon closed, Tue-Thu 15:00-22:00, Fri-Sat 11:00-22:00 and Sun 12:00-19:00.
