About IMI Motorsports Complex

IMI Motorsports Complex is one of Colorado's premier racing hubs. Located about 30 minutes north of Denver along I-25, it serves as a playground for gearheads of all types. The facility features six distinct tracks, but the crown jewel is the 1-mile paved road course. This track is famous for its long straights and technical corners, hosting everything from Supermoto bike races to drifting events. For the general public, IMI offers high-speed rental karts that let you experience the same layout used by professional racers.

Detailed guide

The Rental Experience

  • Adult Karts: The fleet consists of gas-powered Sodi RT8 karts. These are much faster than indoor electric karts, capable of reaching highway speeds on the long straights.
    • Cost: Approx. $35–$50 per session (pricing fluctuates, check counter).
  • Junior Karts: Smaller gas karts available for kids.
    • Requirement: Ages 8–15 years old.
  • The Surface: Because this track is also used by drift cars and motorcycles, the rubber "groove" can change throughout the day. It is a real road course with bumps, elevation, and grip changes—far more challenging than a flat indoor oval.

For Owner-Drivers

  • Track Fees: If you own your own kart or motorcycle, IMI is one of the most affordable places to practice.
    • Asphalt Fee: Approx. $50 per day for open practice.
    • Dirt Fee: Approx. $30 per day for the Motocross tracks.
  • Storage: On-site garage rentals are available for members who don't want to haul their trailer every weekend.
