Willow Springs Kart Track
About Willow Springs Kart Track
Willow Springs Kart Track is a 0.625-mile, 9-turn paved sprint track nestled inside the 600-acre Willow Springs International Motorsports Park. Recognized as the oldest permanent road course in the United States, the complex is steeped in history, having hosted everything from early NASCAR events to modern film productions like Ford v Ferrari. The kart track itself mimics the high-speed, flowing nature of the famous "Big Willow" road course, offering a technical layout that challenges drivers to carry momentum through sweeping corners. Following a purchase in 2024, the kart track received a complete asphalt replacement, returning it to pristine condition for the first time in decades.

The Racing Experience
- Arrive & Drive Rentals: For those without their own equipment, vendors like OTR Karting offer "arrive and drive" packages. These typically start with a $200 package for 60 minutes of track time in a 212cc automatic kart—plenty of time to complete roughly 70 laps.
- Owner-Driver Test Days: The track frequently hosts "Open Test Days" for kart owners. The gate fee is typically around $90 per kart/driver for a full day (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) of open practice.
- Shifter Karts: For the ultimate thrill, limited packages allow advanced groups to rent 125cc shifter karts. These machines mimic Formula 1 dynamics with manual gears and extreme acceleration.
The Facility
- Spectating: Guests can watch not just the karts, but often catch supercars and motorcycles testing on the adjacent "Big Willow" or "Streets of Willow" tracks visible from the hillside.
- Layout: The 0.625-mile course features 9 turns and a long back straightaway where karts can reach their top speed.
- Amenities: As a serious track, amenities are functional but rugged. There is a pit area for tuning, and the main raceway complex features a diner (The Chalet) known for its "racer’s breakfast".
