Experience full-throttle fun in Ohio.

Ohio offers some of the most authentic karting experiences in the Midwest. Unlike states dominated by family fun centers, Ohio is home to dedicated "driver's tracks." In the Cincinnati area, you can race high-performance gas karts on a professional outdoor circuit. In the north (Cleveland/Akron), the scene is defined by aggressive, high-speed indoor electric facilities that cater to leagues and serious enthusiasts.

The absolute gold standard for rentals in Ohio is MCC Kartplex (Motorsports Country Club) in Batavia, just east of Cincinnati. This is not an amusement park; it is a dedicated outdoor competition track that runs a fleet of CRG Centurion gas karts. These are professional rental chassis capable of 50 mph, running on a 0.7-mile outdoor road course with open barriers. It is widely considered the closest thing to "real" racing available to the public in the state. In Cleveland, BOSS Pro-Karting (near the airport) sets the bar for indoor racing. They run high-speed Sodi RTX electric karts that offer instant torque and are tuned for adult competition rather than just casual cruising. The facility is modern and frequently hosts competitive leagues, making it the top choice for drivers who care about lap times. Just south in Medina, High Voltage Karting offers a similar premium electric experience. It features a technical indoor track and is unique for opening an outdoor section (weather permitting), creating a rare indoor/outdoor hybrid lap during the summer months. Columbus Options: Buckeye Raceway is the capital's premier choice. It operates electric Sodi karts on a technical indoor road course, serving as the go-to for corporate events and leagues in Central Ohio. For Kart Owners: G&J Kartway in Camden is legendary. It is one of the oldest and most respected sprint tracks in America. However, it is primarily a club track for owner-drivers and does not offer a standard "Arrive & Drive" rental program for the public. If you have your own 2-stroke or 4-stroke kart, this is your holy grail.

Go karting in Ohio - FAQs

Common questions about karting in Ohio.

Generally, no. G&J Kartway in Camden is primarily a practice and race facility for kart owners (people who bring their own karts). They do not offer a daily "Arrive & Drive" rental program for the general public.

For rentals, the CRG gas karts at MCC Kartplex (Batavia) and the Sodi electric karts at BOSS Pro-Karting (Cleveland) both reach speeds of 50 mph. MCC offers the advantage of a larger outdoor track, which makes the speed feel more natural.

Uniquely, the Full Throttle Adrenaline Park in Cincinnati (Springdale) operates gas-powered karts indoors, unlike most modern centers that have switched to electric. This offers a grittier, more traditional racing experience.
