Wilmington Raceway Park
About Wilmington Raceway Park
Located on Olinger Circle in Wilmington—perfectly positioned between Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus—Wilmington Raceway Park is a beloved cornerstone of Ohio’s grassroots motorsport community. Completely shunning the commercialized, indoor "rental kart" business model, this venue is a dedicated, authentic outdoor proving ground for serious owner-drivers. Operating for over 15 years, the massive 1-mile asphalt circuit puts competitive racers to the ultimate test. Whether you are fine-tuning a Briggs LO206 for a local club weekend, screaming past the grandstands in an IAME KA100, or dragging a knee on a mini moto, Wilmington delivers pure, unadulterated racing without the gimmicks.

The Racing Experience
- The Track: A sprawling, 1-mile outdoor asphalt sprint circuit. The layout is exceptionally long for traditional karting, featuring a challenging mix of high-speed straights and sweeping corners that heavily reward smooth momentum management and precise gear ratios.
- The Karts (Bring Your Own): Because there is no casual hire fleet, the paddock is filled with true, high-performance racing machines.
- Sprint Karts: The grid is dominated by the highly accessible 4-stroke Briggs & Stratton LO206 classes, alongside faster 2-stroke platforms like the KA100.
- Kid Karts: The track heavily supports the next generation, hosting dedicated classes for young owner-drivers learning their racecraft in governed micro-karts.
The Facilities & Extra Attractions
- The Grassroots Paddock: This is a pure racing environment. Instead of neon arcades and luxury trackside bars, you get a close-knit, welcoming paddock where veterans grill food, lend spare tools, and help rookies turn wrenches between heats.
- Championship Weekends: Even if you don't own a kart, it is a brilliant place to spectate. The venue regularly hosts massive race weekends for the Buckeye Karting Series (BKS) and regional club championships.
- Camping & Amenities: Built for full weekend events, the facility offers basic amenities including indoor restrooms, trackside support, and space for RV and tent camping right next to the circuit.
