Detailed guide

One-mile road course and slick track

New Castle Motorsports Park combines a one-mile, 28-foot-wide road course with a 950-foot back straight and multiple configurations, plus a separate paved slick-track oval and attached shorter road-course layouts. It hosts KRA club racing, national series, owner practice, public rentals and corporate events.

Two public rental routes

  • Road course: 6hp Honda karts on purpose-built racing chassis; drivers must be 14+.
  • Slick track: 13hp Honda karts with wraparound bumpers; no age minimum is published, but riders must be at least 54 inches.
  • Minors: anyone under 18 needs a parent or legal guardian present to sign the release; road-course minors also provide proof of age.
  • Equipment: road-course helmets and driving jackets are supplied, with full-length pants and closed-toe shoes required.
  • Availability: call or check the news page because races, corporate events and weather can affect rentals.

Owner-driver and competition use

  • Open practice: normally Tue-Sun 10am-7pm; closed Monday, with Tuesday also closed after Labor Day.
  • Race days: open practice does not run during race meetings, though road-course rentals can now operate on many race days and the slick track remains available most days.
  • Junior progression: KRA includes Kid Kart and older classes under the current schedule and rule set.
  • Current programme: the 2026 calendar includes KRA rounds and regional or national events.

Facilities

  • On site: more than 60 rental garages, 2,000-square-foot Trackside Kart Parts shop, Racer’s Grill, RV parking and paved pits.
  • Events: the Champions Club provides seating, TVs and a wet bar for corporate events and private parties, with catering available.
  • No directory booking: Kart Directory shows no external checkout or booking button.
